July Update 1

Image
July has been a very, very month so far which is just awesome. July/August are the only two months of the year at which I can be "full-time" with Purple Duck Games so I'm really pleased at the amount of work that we have gotten done so far. For new releases we have: Campaign Elements Series (DCC; Daniel J. Bishop) Daniel J. Bishop has kicked off our second series for the Dungeon Crawl Classics Roleplaying Game called Campaign Elements (CE) . Daniel describes them as follows: The Campaign Elements series is designed to help judges create persistent campaign worlds, as well as deal with patron quests, divine requests, and the sudden need to "Quest For It". Whether it is because you are short on players one evening, or the wizard needs to locate a new spell, the Campaign Elements series has you covered. Each of these areas is short enough to be played through by most groups in only a single session. That doesn't mean that the value of the area is limited to a ...

We did not have any new releases on the Purple Duck Games side of the business this week but we were able to get out a number of things on our 4 Winds Fantasy Games  side of the business including: 1) Monster Knowledge Cards II: Achaieria to Centipede, Titan This is our first card product to be released using the card options at Rpgnow. They are not listed on DriveThruCards because OBS wants DriveThruCards to only list stand-alone type card games and not card supplements for roleplaying games. I think it is going to be very hard to get these cards into consumers hands because as a print-only product there is no way for reviewers to get them.  Back of the cards Front of the Cards Reviewers If you want to get a set of review drop me an email and I'll see what I can do about getting a set printed and mailed to you. Admittedly, I could send out the PDF used to make the cards to reviewers but I want the reviewer to have the cards in their hands and both Perry and I feel the physica...

May 27th - June 9th

Thankfully we are out of May and finally into June. I'm coming up to my annual holidays in a couple of weeks and with then be able to devote almost full-time effort to Purple Duck Games and 4 Winds Fantasy Gaming products. 4 Winds Fantasy Gaming It has been quite on the 4 Winds Fantasy Gaming from the last couple of weeks as I've been working on finishing up Purple Mountain IV: The Magmadome and on a number of day job projects that have been completely consuming my spare time. That will change this week however because we are back to work on 4WFG stuff and should be releasing three things this week. First off there will be two new Deus ex Historica releases featuring two superhero teams of the silver age--The Second Chance Squad and The Watchful Gaze. The Second Chance Squad Secondly, we have finally made some movement on getting Bestiary II - Monster Knowledge Cards produced. What is even more awesome is that the cards will actually be cards through the DriveThruCards progra...

4 Winds Fantasy Gaming Updates First up for new releases is Sean O'Connor's next contribution to the Paths of Power II: Paths of Blood. Player's Option: Elves Player's Options: Elves  [PFRPG] Every era and every culture has legends, long believed, of a fairy folk that lives long years, collects knowledge like sweet acorns, and possesses a casual magic beyond the greatest efforts of men. Elves. Tall, graceful, beautiful, skilled; creatures of the forest, occasionally visiting the realms of lesser races. And while most (with notable exceptions) hold to the standards of good and the preservation of nature, there are those who become jaded with the weight of long life, and seek purposes somewhat less noble, pursuable only by those of their eldritch otherness. For their ways are not the ways of other races, and their power is the power of ages, with no limits. Presented here are several options for your elven character, including two variant races, and numerous feats, flaws ...

The Weeks of March 10th - March 24th

As I am trapped in my yard yet again, with both snow plows completely broken there is very little I can do right now so it seemed like a perfect time to update the site with all the changes that have been occurring. Deus ex Historica Mother Bear I by Kate Bradley In the last two weeks we've managed to get out six more character from the Deus ex Historica series. They are Jumping Jack and Jill , Lariat , Radar Man , Midnight and Mist , Troubleshooter , and Mother Bear I . We are working our way through the whole of the book. I think right now we are on about page 65-70 of this beast so we are not even 1/3 of the way through this massive release. ( Subscription ) If all goes well we should have another two characters in this series up on Sunday, and four more next week. In April, we will be leaving the Golden Age of Comics and moving into the Silver Age. Paths of Power II: Paths of Blood Now that we have a rhythm for Deus ex Historica, I'm working on trying to move more and more ...

Hive King by   Juan Diego Dianderas Deus ex Historica Update I've just finished upload the next two issues of Deus ex Historica to our sales sites. This week we added Ghost Boy , Hive King , Grenadier , and Lady Pendergrass . I have four more through initial layout and now they need to go to Perry and Don for final checks before we release them on Monday and Thursday. I also received the artist list from Robert, so I've been working hard to make sure the artists for this product are properly credited. Paths of Power II Update We launched Paths of Power II: Paths of Blood as a subscription on the 2nd of March. Sales have been pretty good so far. There were four products included in it at launch and Player's Options: The Corsair was added to it on Marc 5th. The Corsair is a pirate-based base class for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game written by 4WFG alumni Sean O'Conner. The Paths of Power products were always about expanding player options with new base classes and othe...

Productive Week

Image
It is has been a very productive week at Purple Duck Games . We accomplished many things on both the Purple Duck Games and the 4 Winds Fantasy Gaming sides of the business. To recap this is what has happened. Deus ex Historica  (4WF) - We recently got the subscription for the Deus ex Historica up and running. All the kickstarters that supported the project should have received a link to the subscription and we have put three characters through initial layout and up for sale. The plan at this point is to get four more characters up a week. Two on Mondays and Two on Thursdays. If I can squeeze more in I will but PDG is not a full-time operation. Heroes of the Fenian Triarchy (PDG) - Heroes of the Fenian Triarchy is our first of a series of player-focused books that explores the Lands of Porphyra in detail. Written by Josh McCrowell this product clocks in at 52 pages of content is chocked full of information needed for players to build characters from the Fenian Triachy. Its not out f...

As most of my readers know Purple Duck Games is not my day job so sometimes things can be slow to get moving. However, this week I'm on holidays so naturally that means I have lots of time to work on Purple Duck Games projects. So far, it has been a very productive week with one of the larger 4 Winds Fantasy Gaming  products getting some movement and at least on Purple Duck Games release as well. Danni Cipher, Time Travelling Archaeologist by Talon Dunning First up, we have release a subscription for the Deus ex Historica  line. The complete Deus ex Historicai book will likely be over 300 hundred pages when finished, so in order to tackle this one easier and get content out to our kickstarters quicker we have decided on doing series releases. Each of the heroes and villains will be available independently of the subscription if you only have interest in certain characters as well. The first of the serial releases is out now and details the time-travelling archaeologist, Dann...
