In his previous life, Ajax was the "prisoner" of a human alchemist who thought having a fox as a pet would be cute. Ajax hated being caged within the alchemist's lair and hated the stink of the alchemist's experiments. His captivity ended quickly when the alchemist foolished fed Ajax anumi fruit to test its properties.
Ajax escaped into the wilds of the Garden of Meynon and joined with other natural forces to stave off the encroach of humans, elves and gnomes across the natural plains. Ajax is a trusted scout within the Jade Compact, an organization devoted to defending the wilderness against the spread of "civilization".
